First photos...

So let's flash back to the crazy season, to when this all started...
When we got kicked out of our Colorado campground (when they closed for the year...) on Sept. 22nd, we pretty much beelined it for Texas.  I knew Bill was really, really interested in this airpark house...  He'd been looking for this sort of thing the whole time we'd been together!  And he knew I was "more ready" to branch out and try something/somewhere new, and this house looked to check off all the right boxes, not least importantly of which, we could afford it!  Once Bill saw the house in person, it was basically a done deal.  There was no way I could say no, no way I could squash his dreams and break his heart like that.

So...on with the odyssey or ordeal (really, it was both!)...!

If you haven't already seen them, here are the first house photos I took, at this link:  Our New House!  Otherwise, here are some other, general photos of that first "exploratory" venture:
During our week there, we drove around quite a bit - saw local towns of Athens, Jacksonville, Palestine,...  We also went into Tyler, which is The Big City for us!  About 30 min. away, it has most everything (a few names that are missing and I might miss a bit - Aaron Bros., Soup Plantation,...).  While we were GPSing around, we ended up going through one of those little historic neighborhoods that I love, just like in OKC.  Beautiful homes and gardens, tree-lined streets, mostly built between 1900 and 1953.  And I just saw on-line that this place really lights up in the spring, when the azaleas bloom (thus, it is called the Azalea Residential Historic District!).  I think there are several historic districts in Tyler, and I'm looking forward to exploring them all!

There are two dog parks in Tyler, although the one we visited that day is on the smaller side.  But that is understandable, as it is part of the Subaru dealership!!  Considering that, it's a super little park!  At least the dogs thought so!!  One of the guys working there told us that the Chevy lot (same owner, I think) was going to develop a dog park too!  Smart marketing, at least for dog-owning folks like us!!!!
Bill found a frisbee in the park...

And in case you were too lazy to go to that link, here's one shot of our house (on a sunny day, no less!) so at least you'll recognize it when you fly in to visit!!
And here's the main reason we ended up here!
A runway (which our house is located right beside!!  Very cool!  Very light air traffic (only a few take-offs and landings per week) even though the runway is open to the public.  And a hangar - Bill's GIANT Man Cave/Workshop/Playroom!!
Our pretty view from the front (the runway side) of the house.
And here's the RV park we stayed at.  Would highly recommend this place!  It's gorgeous!!!  Talk about spacious, open, and pretty!!!  I think it's something like 40 acres of mowed grass, trees, and lakes you can even fish in!!!  Nice folks run it, decent prices,...  Only down side is it's a bit of a drive to our place (about 45 min.).
Pretty driveway, eh?!!
The dogs scored here!  They got to play in the Bark Park (a nice, long fenced-in dog run we visited several times a day), and walk all over those 40 acres!
